Minor Field Studies

Deadline on 15 April 2021

Applies to field studies that can be completed no later than 15 January 2022.

Minor Field Studies (MFS) is a grant programme that is intended for Bachelor’s and Master’s students who want to learn about developing countries and development issues. This is done by collecting data for a degree project over a period of 8 to 20 weeks in a country approved by Sida/UHR. Your field study should relate to some of the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Read more about the Global Goals.

The grant is funded by Sida but is administered by the Swedish Council for Higher Education. The grant of SEK 27,000 can be used for such expenses as travel, accommodations, vaccines and visas.

The grant is open to citizens from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland and Swedish permanent residency (PUT) holders. More information about entry requirements is available in the MFS student guide below.
